Hear ye, hear ye!

Listen up, y'all! Jacob's got something to say:

For several months, the only sounds Jacob would make were a boisterous grunt or a high-pitched squeal. We were worried he was behind in language development, although everyone told us boys develop language slower than girls.

A couple weeks ago, we finally heard Jacob mutter "dadada" under his breath. Heck yea, I though, he likes me more! Mom does all the work and Dad gets all the credit.

Yea, that thought quickly backfired.

At 6:30 one morning, we heard Jacob moving around in his crib. Erin and I were hoping he would go back to sleep. Minutes later we heard "dadada" coming from the monitor. That's when Erin turned to me and said, "he's calling for you, dad."

Ugh... coming.

Next on his vocabulary list is "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" and I suppose "Hook 'Em Horns." "Rocky Top," however, will be omitted from his lexicon.
